Remember folks: have a cold weather kit in your car! Include a sleeping bag, space blankets (4) duck tape, pocket knife or multi tool, extra jacket, warm boots and socks. Folding snow shovel, ice scraper and hatchet as well as road flares. What else do you think should go in this kit? Put suggestions in the comments!

We in the United States Volunteer Rangers are deeply saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy and send our best wishes to our brothers and sisters in Civil Air Patrol during this difficult time

We are deeply saddened to share that earlier today, a Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182 crashed in Larimer County, Colo., while participating in a search and rescue training exercise. There was one survivor and two fatalities.

CAP will cooperate fully with the NTSB in the investigation. We are grateful for the outpouring of support from our members, communities, and partners, during this difficult time.
