After more than twenty years of dedicated service, Sulynn Creswell, Executive Director of Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center has announced her retirement, effective July 31st. Her leadership has profoundly impacted the regions' creative economy and cultural footprint . And that’s a wrap on our first Summer Art Camp of 2026! Our K-3rd graders had an amazing week making art, and finished with an exhibition and reception for their families.

Join artist Beth Oberle for a hands-on fabric dyeing workshop on Saturday, June 20th (from 10am to 12:30) 🎨. Students will learn to dye a rainbow of cotton fabric. Beth will take you step by step through the process of dyeing a color wheel of fat-eighths with a simple easy method. Students will also create a one-of-a-kind cotton fat-quarter with an easy, mess free, ice dye method. Ice dyeing producing patterns of color and texture that seem like magic!

Summer Art Camp Days 1 & 2 for Grades K-1 and Grades 2-3. Day one we made mixed media flower vases with flowers, day 2 we stretched our brains and painted reverse painting inspired by colorful fish and moths! We still have 2 days left and a lot of fabulous artwork to go….but we are definitely proud of these talented artists!
