The Zeta Rho Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on September 17, 1978. The charter members of Zeta Rho Sigma were Bros. James Johnson, Clarence Juvennelliano, John Williams, Orlando L. Chandler, and Carl Miller. For years, the members of Zeta Rho Sigma provided community service projects throughout the Camden area in an effort to carry out the three primary programs of
Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. --- Bigger and Better Business, Social Action, and Education. These programs provide the vehicles by which men of Sigma everywhere dedicate their lives to as reflected in our motto: Culture for Service and Service for Humanity. During the early 1980's, membership in the Zeta Rho Sigma Chapter decreased. A collection of Sigma men met for the purpose of rejuvenating the chapter in the Spring of 1985. By the fall of the same year, Zeta Rho Sigma had expanded into the Atlantic, Burlington, and Gloucester Counties. During these years, Zeta Rho Sigma continued to grow in membership and attracted a diversified group of business and professional men dedicated to becoming "Bigger, Better, and Bolder" in southern New Jersey. On January 22, 1996, the bodies of Zeta Rho Sigma and Epsilon Pi Sigma (Mercer County Alumni Chapter) agreed to a consolidation and applied for a new charter with a record-breaking thirty-three brothers. A new charter was granted on March 18, 1996 along with the chapter designation of Kappa Upsilon Sigma (Burlington and Atlantic Counties). On December 18, 2002, Zeta Rho Sigma -- the Camden County Alumni Chapter, returned with a renewed commitment to making a difference in the state of New Jersey, in the region, and in the Fraternity.
