On Friday, we officially cut the ribbon on this year’s Art in the Commons public art installations!!

Our artists, team members, partners, residents, and supporters gathered in Waterfront South to celebrate the completion of new public art installations throughout the neighborhood.

Public art is more than decoration. It makes community stories visible, creates a shared sense of place, and affirms that Camden’s neighborhoods deserve beauty, creativity, and meaningful investment.

We are incredibly grateful to our Camden FireWorks team, our participating artists, and our partners at the Center for Environmental Transformation, Heart of Camden, the Henson Center, and the Nick Virgilio Writers House for bringing this vision to life.

The ribbon has been cut, but these artworks are only beginning their lives in the community. We invite you to visit Waterfront South and experience Art in the Commons for yourself.

Supported in part by funding from the NJEDA A.R.T. Phase II Grant Program. Thank you New Jersey Economic Development Authority for investing in this community.

Join us at 11 AM as we kick off the festival with our public art focused parade, a celebration of creativity, community, and the public art that helps tell Camden’s story.

And the public art viewing doesn’t stop when the parade ends.

Throughout the festival, we’ll be leading Public Art Tours that take you through the neighborhood to experience murals, installations, and creative works that make Waterfront South an open-air gallery.

Come for the parade. Stay for the makers, music, and art all around you.

We planted the seed, and y’all showed up.

Our first of The Juke: Garden Parties brought Camden FireWorks’ garden to life with live music, drinks, games, conversation, and a whole lot of creative energy.

What we wanted most from The Juke was simple: create a space where artists, entrepreneurs, creatives, and community members could actually meet each other, talk, exchange ideas, and enjoy being together.

Watching that happen in real time was something special.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make our first garden party a success, and to 🥀S U N N I E 🌻 A L L E N🥀 for setting the soundtrack to the evening.

This was the first one, but definitely not the last.

Here’s to continuing to cultivate Camden’s creative ecosystem, one gathering at a time.
