Join us in welcoming Richard Duran to The Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center serving as the Membership & Events Manager!

Richard oversees membership operations, event coordination, customer experience, and community engagement initiatives. Bilingual in Spanish and English, Richard brings experience in community outreach, prevention initiatives, behavioral health, and case management throughout South Jersey, including work with youth, families, and individuals facing mental health and substance abuse challenges in community, court, and correctional settings. Prior to joining the Kroc Center, he worked in coalition prevention, behavioral health, and care coordination roles focused on strengthening community support systems and connecting individuals to resources. Richard earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University–Camden with double minors in Psychology and Sociology. He is passionate about creating welcoming environments, building meaningful relationships, and serving the Camden community through leadership and service.

A huge thank you to the seniors from Camden’s Charter School Network for spending time with us and giving back to the community through our food pantry!

More than 80 young athletes joined us for an exciting Flag Football Clinic led by GB Elite, where they learned new skills, built confidence, and experienced the power of teamwork.

The highlight of the day came when Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis surprised participants, sharing words of encouragement, meeting families, and helping create memories our youth won't soon forget.

We're grateful to the Jordan Davis Family Foundation, GB Elite, our dedicated staff and volunteers, and every parent who helped make this event possible. A special thank you to Campbell's and Costco Cherry Hill for generously providing snacks and helping keep our athletes fueled throughout the day.

Together, we're creating opportunities for young people to grow both on and off the field.

We celebrated the sweetest way we know how...with donuts, of course! Our After School students enjoyed a delicious treat while learning about the history of the modern donut and the important role The Salvation Army played in its creation. Thank you to Major Lola for sharing this fun and meaningful lesson that connected a favorite snack to a rich tradition of service and care. ❤️🍩

Join us for our next Pop-Up Food Pantry TOMORROW Friday, June 5, from 11am-2pm in partnership with our friends at the Food Bank of South Jersey, United States Cold Storage, Inc., and UnitedHealthcare! 

We will also have a special visit from Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center providing pet food and supplies while supplies last.

Please bring your ID and bags to receive free groceries including produce, dairy, meat and more! no appointments necessary. Enter through Entrance A by our solar panel parking lot for this FREE event for everyone.

The Kroc Flea Market is almost here! Join us July 18 10am-2pm for a day of vendors. Want to sell your wears? We launch vendor registration on Friday June 5th online or in person at our Welcome Desk. Vendor spaces are $25 each and we have a limited offer of renting a table and two chairs for $15.

We were honored to be part of this special occasion recognizing Frank Moran’s lasting impact on Camden and his commitment to creating opportunities for future generations. Community spaces like this help shape memories and bring neighbors together through mind, body, and spirit.

Thank you to our friend Cait (representing New Jersey Swim Safety Alliance , The ZAC Foundation , New Jersey Recreation and Park Association , and Dolfin Swimwear) who dropped off wonderful bathing suits, lifejackets, and goggles for local families in our Summer programming! They are part of a statewide group currently working toward a Drowning Prevention in the state of New Jersey. The goal: to make a big difference and reduce drownings throughout New Jersey. We applaud their important work and partnership with us in Camden!
