The Hispanic Heritage Month Community Leadership Awards are an initiative of The Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center, presented in partnership with the Rutgers University–Camden Division of Impact & Community Engagement (DICE).
Held in recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, the awards celebrate individuals and businesses whose leadership, service, and contributions strengthen Camden City, particularly its Hispanic/Latino/e communities. *Eligibility Note: Nominees are not required to identify as Hispanic or Latino/e.

The nomination form will ask for the nominator’s contact information, the nominee’s information, the selected award category, and a brief description of the nominee’s leadership, service, and community impact. The bilingual form is available in English and Spanish and takes approximately five minutes to complete.

Award recipients will be recognized during The Salvation Army Camden Kroc Center’s Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration on Friday, September 18, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Join us for our next Pop-Up Food Pantry Friday, August 28, from 11am-2pm in partnership with our friends at the Food Bank of South Jersey , United States Cold Storage, Inc., and UnitedHealthcare! Please bring your ID and bags to receive free groceries including produce, dairy, meat and more! no appointments necessary! Please enter through Entrance A by our solar panel parking lot for this FREE event for everyone.

We had a beautiful afternoon of fellowship, fun, and sharing a meal at our staff Summer Sizzle! Thank you to the Kroc Stars that make every program, event, and operation of the Camden Kroc Center possible. A special thank you goes out to Councilwoman Jannette Ramos for her touching keynote on the Kroc Center's impact in the local community.

We had a beautiful evening at our Camp Kroc Finale featuring performances from our campers wth dance, drums, vocals, and even a fashion show showcasing outfits comprised of found objects! Thank YOU to every camper, staff member, and parent/guardian for a fun and safe Summer.

Kroc Center Emerging Leader of the Year: Recognizes an emerging leader who has demonstrated a strong partnership with the Kroc Center and a meaningful commitment to serving Camden City.

Student of the Year, Grades K–12: Recognizes a Camden City student who demonstrates leadership potential, positive character, achievement, and service to their school or community.

Kroc Distinguished Alumni Award: Recognizes a Rutgers–Camden graduate with strong Kroc Center partnership and collaborative roots whose leadership, service, or professional contributions have created meaningful impact in Camden City.

Community Member or Community Organizer of the Year: Recognizes a community member or organizer whose service has contributed to the well-being, engagement, or advancement of Camden residents.

Local Business of the Year: Recognizes a Camden business that demonstrates a sustained commitment to the community through service, partnerships, employment opportunities, charitable support, or local investment.
