Participants from the Clemente Course in the Humanities we support in partnership with Atlantic Cape Community College are curating a special exhibit sharing the stories of NJ women veterans, planned open in the new year.

NJ women veterans of all generations, branches, and backgrounds are invited to submit photos representative of their service to be a part of the exhibit.

🏆 Nominations Are Open for the 2027 Buildy Awards! 🏆

Has your museum, zoo, aquarium, public garden, or visitor center recently completed a transformative construction project? We want to hear about it!

The Buildy Awards recognize outstanding museum-related building projects that demonstrate creativity, innovation, and impact on the communities they serve.

Eligible projects must:
✅ Have been completed between 2020–2025
✅ Have opened or reopened to the public for at least one year before the November 9, 2026 submission deadline
✅ Include new construction, additions, renovations, or a combination of these
✅ Be located anywhere in the world—projects do not need to be in the Mid-Atlantic region

Projects of all sizes and budgets are encouraged to apply. Selection focuses on impact, quality, and the project’s contribution to the visitor experience.

Previously submitted projects that did not receive an award may be resubmitted with an updated nomination form if completed within the 2020–2025 timeframe.

• Completed nomination form
• Project photos (interior and exterior)
• Floor plans/site plans (as relevant)
• Media coverage, awards, testimonials, or other supporting materials
• Confirmation from the Museum Director or Deputy Director of the project’s intention to be briefly presented at the 2027 Building Museums™ Symposium in Los Angeles

To alter the narrative of its neighborhood, Clinton Hill Community Action sought to document, celebrate, and share its story through oral history and multimedia, collections, walking tours, and events. 📖

Started in our Community History program and supported by subsequent grants from NJCH and other funders, the Clinton Hill Neighborhood History Project continues today.

Just 19 exist in the country, and Willingboro’s is the only remaining "Futuro House" in New Jersey. The Willingboro Community Development Corporation's work to preserve this relic of the Space Age Design Era was catalyzed by boldly going into our Community History program.
