Your brother's keeper is your brother....
When you are sent by God many times people will be excited about your arrival thinking that with the snap of the fingers you will change their lives. They don't understand the warfare that goes into delivering and then possessing the promise. When Moses went before Pharaoh, he was meet by opposition. The aversion toward the Israelites became worst. It was not long before the Israelites blamed Moses for things getting worst. Their faith surely began to waver. I'm sure they started to question was Moses even the savior that was to fulfill the prophecy. It amazes me how people can be sure of your identity until their faith get tested then they will question if they heard God correct. Can you imagine just how frustrated Moses must have been? Have you ever been directed by God to pray, serve, intercess for, give to, assist or comfort someone and they began to blame you for the problem that came way before you? Moses did not grow up serving their God. His faith couldn't of have been greater then the Israelites, right? This was the God they put all their trust and belief in their whole life to send a deliver to get them out of bo***ge, now even they waver. Moses didn't have the belief system they had. All he had was an experience, a rod, and Aaron. You ever wonder, "why"? For some, seeing is believe. Moses was called by God not because of his unmovable faith, but because of his history. Who he was, who he thought himself to be, who he knew and what he understood. Aaron was his right hand. Aaron had the unmovable faith. Aaron throw the rod to the Pharaoh that turned to a snake (Exo 7:10). Aaron stretched the rod that turn the river to blood (Exo 7:19). Although it was Moses who told the Pharaoh all that God said, it was Aaron who command to the Pharaoh to let the Israelites go (Exo 7:2).
By the time Moses came to the sea, he had witnessed enough of the power of God for his faith to move the Sea. With no directive from God, no rod and no Aaron, he simple stretched his hand over the sea (Exo 14:21). God moved the water and created a path. The rod was never for Moses, it was for Aaron to use and Moses to witness God's power so he may believe.
To all the leaders, I have yet to come across a story where God increased someone's influence or prominence to fulfill his will and they didn't have a right hand man. You can have the recognition, they can write books about you, your name can be up in lights..... yet if you don't have you an Aaron, a Mordecai, a Samuel, a Joseph, etc to advise you while in the palace, how much more could you do? The prophets of God have a heart for the will of God to be manifested. You have a anointing to lead and shepard but they have an anointing of faith to get the job done!
When the people you are sent to lead start to wonder if you are the one, and your confidence starts to waver. Your Aaron has you covered. He will stand for you until you can stand for yourself. Your ministry is slow, your attendance is low, you are thinking about closing up shop and going back to you old life, you still use the crutch of a rod, you wonder if you heard God right, is this what you are supposed to be doing...... then you better go get your brother Aaron!!
Then the LORD said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. ~ Exodus 7:1
