Team Camden had the opportunity to travel to San José, California, for Reimagining the Civic Commons Studio 11 Convening: Diverse Cultures, Common Ground.

Bringing leaders from across the country together to explore how public spaces, art, culture, and community engagement can help people feel more connected to their cities and to each other.

This experience left us inspired, energized, and full of ideas for future community development. From intentionally designed pocket parks and vibrant public plazas that drive foot traffic and support local businesses, to neighborhood-defining mural projects that strengthen identity and create destination corridors.

🏙️ Reimagining the Civic Commons cohort cities:

Shared Ground, Shared Future. This year's theme said it all. Eight years in, and the Camden Environmental Summit continues to grow in attendance, in conversation, and in impact.

This year's summit brought together the people and organizations who understand that protecting our land, air, and water requires collective responsibility and action. Thank you to the sponsors who made this summit possible: New Jersey American Water, Rutgers University—Camden, Rowan University EMR USA Metal Recycling, and Camden County Government

Your support is what keeps this mission moving forward.

Thank you to every attendee, speaker, advocate, and partner who showed up and contributed to this work. See you next year!

What a great night on Monday at the Cooper Plaza and Lanning Square community meeting!

We loved connecting with neighbors and sharing updates on Sheila Roberts Park and 7th & Clinton Street Park alongside Camden County Parks and the City of Camden.

Your voices, ideas, and energy are helping shape these spaces into something truly special. We value every bit of input and cannot wait to break ground on these amazing community parks!

Plant something that outlives you. Saturday, May 16th we will be planting trees in the ground at Stockton Station Park and we need hands.

No experience needed. RSVP here: https://www.ctlcamden.com/volunteerfortreeplanting-146779.html.

We'll handle the shovels, the saplings, and the snacks. You handle showing up for something that'll still be growing long after you're gone.
