We’re excited and truly honored to share that CDOSJ has been nominated as one of eight Black-led community organizations to be recognized at tonight’s screening of The Ebony Canal.

Being included in this moment feels both affirming and humbling. The work highlighted in this film—addressing the ongoing disparities in maternal and infant health for Black women—is urgent, necessary, and deserving of this kind of platform.

We’re grateful to stand alongside other organizations committed to this work, and to be part of a space that not only tells these stories, but calls us toward meaningful solutions and collective action.

Thank you to the Prematurity Prevention Initiative and March of Dimes NY/NJ for this recognition and for creating space for such an important conversation.

On April 9th, CDOSJ joined for Rooted & Rising: Strengthening Our Doula Community for Birth Equity at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Doulas, advocates, and community members gathered for an afternoon of connection, learning, and shared commitment to advancing birth equity.

Spaces like this are a reminder that this work is collective—and strengthened through community.
