Good evening, friends.
I am committed to presenting God’s whole counsel—not only the uplifting parts.
“The Place Called Hell”
“Hell” appears 54 times in the King James Bible (first in Deuteronomy 32:22). It is never pleasant. It is the real, conscious destiny of the unsaved—torment separated from paradise by an impassable gulf.
“And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments… for I am tormented in this flame.”
— Luke 16:23-24 (KJV)
It is the abyss where rebels are held until judgment (2 Peter 2:4; Luke 8:31; Revelation 9:11). Jesus Himself holds the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18). At His return, hell will be cast into the lake of fire—the second death (Revelation 20:13-14).
He warned of this certainty, and in love provided the only escape: He bore the sins and just punishment of humanity on the cross. Good works, religion, or others’ prayers cannot save the one who rejects Christ as personal Savior.
Jesus used the word “hell” about 15 times. The warning is clear.
“Wide is the gate… that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat… strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
— Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)
Hell is real. Eternity is long.
The same Savior who warned of it offers free, full salvation to all who turn and trust Him alone.
