We are excited to announce the inception of the area’s own running group, The Medicine Creek Running Club! The goal of the Medicine Creek Running Club is to bring the residents of Southwest Nebraska together through the promotion of the wonderful sport of running. We invite people of all ages and fitness levels to come, hang out, discuss running topics, and of course, RUN!!! The group will meet ev
ery Saturday 9am starting in March (weather permitting) at the Tri Valley Health System Rehab gym (PT gym) in Cambridge. This group will be led by Kyle Broadfoot, PTA. We will begin each morning with some light warm-ups and stretching, followed by a run or walk of your choice based upon your fitness level and goals. Suggestions will be available for goals, training plans, and race options. Some runners may choose to train for a specific 5K or Half-Marathon that may be coming up in the area, and we will support these runners in a fun, relaxed, group environment. At the conclusion of each run or walk, we will meet back at the Tri Valley Rehab gym for a cool-down, stretching, and a light breakfast. Topics of interest will be discussed, such as proper footwear, health and wellness, and advice on treating and preventing aches and pains. Help us make this new running club a success by joining us each Saturday morning! Remember, anybody and everybody is welcome to join us, regardless of your fitness level! We gladly welcome the walkers and run/walkers out there! Whether you’re new to the sport or training for a marathon, this group promises to be a fun and non-intimidating way to get off the couch!
