One last note to wrap up this years hunt. As stated by Eddie , when we put together our first Shoot N The Neck…. Our long term goal was to give back in some way to the community. This is the year !!! Eddie announced before lunch the proceeds from the silent auction table will be the beginning of the Neck District / Dylan Smith Memorial Scholarship dedicated in the memory of our longtime friend and guide. Thank you to all of Dylan’s friends and family for coming out to the hunt and supporting this event in Dylan’s memory. His energy and dedication to our event will be missed by us all. Wow what a great day! The 7th annual Shoot n the Neck event was a great success with a record number of hunters in attendance. Each year the turn out has grown with this year being the largest to date. This could not happen without the dedication and support of all of the volunteers. Our dedicated guides and generous property owners are the backbone of this event . They made it possible to host over 100 hunters this year .

I also want to shout out a big thank you to the following people, Brian Holliday my right hand man for his help with the event. President Mike McKinley for his words of encouragement. Master Chef Sean Gwynn for his extraordinary kitchen skills, Mike Rhinehart aka Brisket man for the best brisket this side of Alabama. And the world-famous Neck District kitchen staff for preparing delicious and plentiful meals for the hunters and guides.

This year marks a big milestone for us . When we started the hunt, we wanted to get to the point where we could give back to the community. This year we started the Neck District/Dylan Smith memorial scholarship. This scholarship will be in remembrance of Dylan who tragically lost his life this past year. Special thanks to Dylans family and friends, especially Jake and Jen Jacobs, Madison Werner, Kelsey and Bo Cahall and Nate Pusey for your help and support. I would also like to thank all the sponsors who make it possible for this event to be such a successful fundraiser. I can’t wait to see all of you again next year. Once again, I thank each and every one of you with the up most gratitude for helping make this event possible.
