The SAVE Act has passed the House and now moves to the Senate.

It’s being framed as “election security,” but it would require proof of citizenship, like a passport or birth certificate, just to register to vote, limit accepted IDs, and make online and mail registration harder.

Healthy democracy requires two things at once: secure systems and broad participation. When policy tilts too far toward procedural hurdles, history shows who bears the cost.

The honest question isn’t whether voter integrity matters, it does. The question is whether the cure creates more exclusion than the problem it claims to solve.

If you’re concerned, contact your U.S. Senators and urge them to vote NO on the SAVE Act.

Civic engagement doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s a two-minute phone call. And two-minute phone calls add up.
