It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to our dear friend, founder, and chair of Veterans Memorial Park, Clark Swanson.
Clark was a Vietnam Veteran who was not welcomed home and thanked for his service. He decided to turn a negative thing around and create a space where people could come and honor veterans and their sacrifice with no reference to the things that make war.
Our beautiful park was conceived in his mind, and his amazing wife, Annette, stood with him the whole time, along with his family, until it became a reality.
Most of the negative health issues Clark dealt with were directly related to his exposure to Agent Orange in Vietnam, but he never complained.
Clark was a true treasure, and he will be dearly missed.
Every time you drive by our beautiful park, please pray for his family and friends, he left behind a big hole in our hearts.
Clark is in heaven, hearing Jesus say, "Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your reward!"
