Massasoit Forest #91 Tall Cedars of Lebanon

Massasoit Forest #91 Tall Cedars of Lebanon Massasoit Forest #91 is Massachusetts and Rhode Island's premier fraternal organization. https://linktr.ee/massasoit91

The Tall Cedars of Lebanon is an appendant Masonic order and is said to be one of Masonry's best-kept secrets. All Masons in good standing are eligible to join. Tall Cedar Masons have a slogan and philosophy that distinguishes them from other Masonic bodies: "Fun, Frolic, and Fellowship for a Purpose." This is possibly due to the fact that they combine all of the best aspects of other Masonic bodi

es: the charitable aspects of the Shrine, the whimsical aspects of the Grotto, the fellowship and camaraderie of the Blue Lodge, a ceremonial initiation ceremony that resembles a Scottish Degree, and, most importantly, a place where Masons can gather in fun and fellowship with their families. The goal of our order is to create chances for members to spend time with family and friends in an enjoyable environment while caring for one another, their families, and themselves. Tall Cedars are well-known for their appearances in parades and other events, particularly the MDA Labor Day Telethon, where they wear colorful pyramid-shaped hats emblazoned with the order's logo, a cedar tree. The Masonic tenets of charity, relief, service, and philanthropy are ingrained in every Tall Cedar and Cedarette, as evidenced by the wearing of the pink rose, which serves as a reminder that, in addition to all the colorful fun and celebration, Tall Cedars has a serious purpose, which is to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association in their quest for a cure for neuromuscular diseases. Their devotion to philanthropy and charity is so strong that in 1951, the Tall Cedars created the Tall Cedars Foundation (TCF) (which is a 501 (c)(3) organization) to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They also helped to establish the MDA Telethon, and Tall Cedars representatives have appeared at the annual event to present a check representing their national membership's fundraising efforts. To this date, they have donated over $19,000,000 to this worthwhile cause. Additionally, The Tall Cedars awards 5 $1,000 scholarships annually to deserving students enrolled in an accredited institution, pursuing a collegiate education, or enrolled in a vocational or technical program. **Okay, Brothers... tomorrow is the deadline.**

For those of you operating on the traditional Masonic schedule of **“I'll take care of it later,”** congratulations.

**Later has arrived.**

And yes, we know. **We’ve talked about August 29. A lot.**

There have been emails. There have been posts. There may have been a text or two.

And yes... **there have been a lot of posters.**

There’s a simple reason:

**We really want you there.**

Because we think you’ll genuinely enjoy what Tall Cedars has to offer: the laughs, the friendships, the ridiculous moments, the good we can accomplish together, and the kind of Brotherhood that starts with a handshake and grows into family.

**We can already hear it: “You joined ANOTHER Masonic organization?”**

Go ahead. **Practice saying it out loud before you try it at home.**

But hear us out. Tall Cedars isn't about another obligation or another night away from home. A lot of the fun is meant to be shared. While this particular Ceremonial is **Brothers only**, many of our activities welcome spouses, families and friends.

So technically, you’re not joining another organization. **You’re expanding the family social calendar.**

**See? We’re helping already.**

If Tall Cedars has been on your radar, **this is a pretty good time to stop thinking about it and come have some fun with us.**

Because the only thing worse than us reminding you about August 29 again...
..is hearing what a great time everyone had **after you missed it.**

**Applications close TOMORROW, Thursday, August 13.**

After that, we’ll finally stop trying to get your attention.

**Probably.**

**Saturday, August 29 • 10:00 AM**
Hartford Scottish Rite • Newington, CT
**Candidate Fee: $100 • Coat & tie requested**

Apply: **bit.ly/joincedars**

**Newington feel a little too far?** Let us know and we'll see if we can help arrange a carpool.

**At this point, you might as well come see why we won’t shut up about it.**

Our Membership Committee has discovered subtlety is overrated. We may have gotten a little carried away with the recruitment campaign. We may not be the most famous stop on the highway, but we're working on it. After all, we’re eager to build the Forest.

**Time is running out. Reservations close August 13.**

Your Blue Lodge is home. Tall Cedars expands the family.

Your next roadside destination for famously good hospitality and even better Brotherhood. Worth going out of your way for, and always worth the trip.

On Saturday, August 29, four Forests will gather under one roof to welcome a new class of Tall Cedars. With the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Connecticut joining us as a candidate and the Supreme Tall Cedar in attendance, this will be one of those occasions that doesn’t come along often.

Come experience Tall Cedars for yourself:

Fun, Frolic and Fellowship, shared with Brothers who will be genuinely glad you came.

Our Brotherhood has a purpose beyond the fun. Through the Tall Cedar Foundation, Cedars come together to make a real difference for children and families living with muscular dystrophy, providing relief today while supporting research that brings hope for tomorrow.

The trip is always better with Brothers. If getting to Newington is a concern, reach out and we’ll see if we can help arrange a carpool.

Lord, what fools these mortals be... had they stayed home!

We instead gathered beneath beautiful summer skies to delight in Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's enchanting production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, where laughter danced as freely as the fairies themselves.

Even Puck himself would gladly have welcomed our band of mischievous Tall Cedars into his troupe.

If we shadows have offended, think but this, and all is mended, for our afternoon was filled with Fun, Frolic, Fellowship, and memories to treasure.

Thus concludes another delightful Tall Cedars outing.

As for Pyramus's dramatic demise... let's just say a few Ruffians were taking notes.

You've climbed this far. What's next?

Every Mason reaches a point where he asks himself, "What's next?"

If you've been wondering what comes next in your Masonic journey, this is your invitation.

This year's Joint Tall Cedars of Lebanon Ceremonial brings together four forests for one unforgettable day of fellowship, ritual, and purpose. Hosted by Nutmeg Forest No. 116 in partnership with Laurel Forest No. 130, Hudson Valley Forest No. 215, and Massasoit Forest No. 91, the event will feature a live presentation of the Prologue and Royal Court.

We're also honored to welcome the Most Worshipful Grand Master of Masons in Connecticut as a candidate for initiation while the Supreme Tall Cedar joins us for this special occasion.

Tall Cedars is where brotherhood becomes family, lifelong friendships begin, and unforgettable memories are made.

Along the way, you'll also help support the Tall Cedar Foundation's mission of providing relief today while supporting research that brings hope for tomorrow to children and families living with muscular dystrophy.

If you're only going to attend one ceremonial this year, make it this one. Opportunities like this are rare.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸

Today we celebrate 250 years of American independence and the enduring ideals of liberty, opportunity, and community that continue to unite us.

As we gather with family and friends to enjoy parades, cookouts, fireworks, and traditions old and new, we also remember those whose courage and sacrifice made our freedoms possible.

From all of us at Massasoit Forest No. 91, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July.

If you've ever been curious about the Tall Cedars, we'd be honored to welcome you. Visit Massasoit91.com to learn more, and join us on August 29 to experience our fellowship firsthand.
