We are recognizing Lance DeDecker, Co-owner and operator of DeDecker Pork Farm in Cambridge, IL, for the February Monthly Swine Spotlight.
“Lance has devoted his life to his family and the farm. Ashley continues as a co-owner and operator; Lance truly embodies the phrase ‘jack of all trades.’ Running a family farm means wearing countless hats, and Lance does it all. He’s the feed mill operator ensuring precise nutrition, the feed hauler delivering sustenance, the animal caretaker monitoring health and comfort, and the repair and maintenance expert keeping equipment running smoothly. He’s also the loading crew, market hauler, power washer, problem solver, and decision maker. Each role demands skill, patience, and resilience, and Lance performs them effortlessly, always with a smile on his face. His ability to adapt, troubleshoot, and lead by example makes him the backbone of our operation and a true steward of animal agriculture.
