Dear All,
Bal Duniya (Seattle and Boston chapters) are collaborating with International Chess Grandmaster Mr Pravin Thipsay for an 8 week online coaching Chess Camp starting June 6th, 2020 to July 26th 2020!
This online chess camp will have total of 4 batches:
Please note: Chess camp will be conducted only if there are 10 students registered per batch.
Cost per person is $150 for the entire 8-week camp.

Beginners 8-week camp (total cost $150): Saturdays starting June 6th to July 25th - 10 AM to 11 AM (EST for east coast and PST for west coast)
Intermediate 8-week camp (total cost $150): Sundays starting June 7th to July 26th - 10 AM to 11 AM (EST for east coast and PST for west coast)
Participants will choose their own skill level.
Beginner: interested in learning basic chess rules and strategies from a Grand Master’s perspective.
Intermediate: interested in learning intermediate strategies for playing games.
If you have trouble deciding please reach out to us and we can help. All classes will be online. Zoom and Chess control board type of platforms will be used for classes.
Please note: If there are adults over 18 years who are interested in starting a batch, we are happy to organize a course. We can have class / classes before the beginner’s class for each coast ($150 total for 8 weeks). 10 adults will be required to conduct the adult class.

Mr Pravin Thipsay’s accomplishments:
(1) International Chess Grandmaster Title awarded By FIDE in 1997, First Maharashtra Player & Third Indian to achieve this feat.
(2) Arjuna Award, the highest sports award, conferred By Government of India in 1984.
(3) Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar in 1990.
(4) 'Dadoji Konddeo Award' for coaches by Government of Maharashtra in 2001.
(5) Joint Champion (Gold Medalist 🥇) in Commonwealth Chess Championship, 1985 & Gold Medalist 🥇in Veteran category in Commonwealth Championships Championship 2019.
(6) Won Individual Gold Medals🥇 in Asian Teams Chess Championship 1983 & 2003
(7) Silver Medalist🥈in Commonwealth Chess Championships 1986, 1989,1991,1993,1994,1996 & Bronze Medalists🥉in 1999,2000,2004.
(8) Represented Indian Chess Team in a record number of 7 Chess Olympiads, 1982 (Captain), 1984 (Captain), 1988,1992,1994,1998 & 2004.
(9) 'The Best Indian Sportsperson of India of 1997' conferred by The Sports Journalists Federation of India.
(10) On 19th August 2019, The Postal Department, Government of India, issued a stamp with Mr. Thipsay’s Photograph with Tajmahal.
