The MDHA works in Minnesota for Minnesota through four main tenets which include hunting, habitat, education and legislation. The Minnesota Deer Hunters Association is a grassroots, democratic organization of members. As such, elected Chapter delegates and Board members meet annually to discuss and vote on resolutions, position statements, and pertinent issues at MDHA’s Corporate Board meeting (us
ually held the last Saturday of February). They vote based upon the information provided and upon feedback from chapter members. In instances where an issue arises but is not presented for debate, MDHA’s Executive Director works closely with the Executive Committee and Executive Board (all elected) to define an interim position; this is often necessary for political and media feedback when time is of the essence. As a result, in all instances MDHA’s positions are developed by democratic representation and voting. Below are some of MDHA’s positions on various current issues.
