is to insure the safety and well being of all cats placed in its care, whether they are abandoned, abused or surrendered. Kitty City Rescue will provide spay and neuter surgery, necessary inoculations before a cat is placed in a permanent home. Our goal is to create a permanent no kill facility devoted to the care and placement of the many unwanted cats in Dorchester County. Kitty City Rescue will
establish an adoption program in which perspective adopters will be screened before an adoption and follow up visits will be performed after. In addition, Kitty City Rescue will establish a foster care program so cats will be cared for until they are adopted. The foster care program will remain in effect to handle any overflow of cats at the rescue. The cost of providing these services will be funded through grants, public donations, and nominal adoption fees. Two of the grants that will be pursued immediately are from Choptank Electric Trust, Pet Smart Charities, and the Snyder Foundation for Animals. Fund raising activities will include but no limited to: spaghetti dinners, longerbasket bingo, written campaigns, media attention and news outlets. We also plan to focus on educating the general public about cats and their care and needs. We plan to go to schools and talk to children of all ages about caring for cats. We also plan to publish a bi-annual newsletter with updates, tips and general information about cat care. We are staffed strictly by volunteers so that none of the monies go to employee related overhead.
