Federal funding for victim services in Massachusetts has dropped by 62% since 2018, putting lifesaving support for survivors at risk.
Programs like On The Rise rely on this funding to provide rental assistance, transportation, healthcare advocacy, legal support, emergency resources, and culturally responsive care for some of our community’s most vulnerable residents.
For many participants, On The Rise is the first call when they are in crisis. Stability, trust, and consistent relationships save lives.
The proposed $13.8M TRUST Line amendment ( #240) would help sustain critical survivor services across Massachusetts, especially for immigrant, LGBTQIA2+, and underserved communities who are disproportionately impacted by funding cuts.
In FY25 alone, MOVA-funded programs served more than 70,000 survivors and provided over 400,000 services statewide.
Now is the time to act. Contact your state senators and elected officials and urge them to support Amendment #240 and the $13.8M TRUST Line investment in the FY27 budget. Survivors across the Commonwealth are counting on it.
