Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard The Nieman Fellowship program is the oldest and best-known study program for journalists in the world.

Founded in 1938, our mission is to promote and elevate the standards of journalism and educate persons deemed specially qualified for journalism. More than 1,300 journalists from 91 countries and territories around the world have come to Harvard for a year of learning, exploration and fellowship. Nieman Fellows are provided the opportunity to step back from deadlines, renew their intellectual curiosity and enrich their understanding of the topics they cover.
