Founded in 1984 as the Harvard Gay & Le***an Caucus, it has successfully pushed for a campus non-discrimination policy based on sexual orientation and then gender identity or expression, benefits for same-sex partners of Harvard employees, and created an en

dowment for scholars studying LGBTQ issues. The Caucus continues to advocate for equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people on campus through campaigns, conferences, events and advocacy.

150 pairs of male lovers, undefeated for decades— until their story was buried for 2,000 years. Discover the Sacred Band of Thebes.

Step back into the ancient world with "Army of Lovers," a groundbreaking new documentary by Lefteris Charitos that has yet to premiere in the USA. Join HGSC on Zoom for a special screening this Sunday, September 28, at 2 PM ET.

Blending cutting-edge archaeology, rare archives, and striking animation, "Army of Lovers" uncovers the story of this legendary force, long buried and only recently brought to light.

Inspired by James Romm’s book, "The Sacred Band: Three Hundred Theban Lovers Fighting to Save Greek Freedom," the film challenges our understanding of Ancient Greece, heroism, gender, and love.

Following the screening, join Professors James Romm and Andrew Lear for a lively Q&A that brings ancient history face-to-face with contemporary conversations about LGBTQ+ identity and the role of love and courage in military life.

Can't Make The Time? Register in advance and receive access to the recording for 14 days.

HGSC is excited to invite you to join us for a screening and Q&A with filmmaker Neelu Bhuman! We will come together to view Neelu’s experimental fiction feature film, Transfinite (2019).

Transfinite is a stunning anthology of seven sci-fi fantasy tales exploring trans and non-binary narratives. Lauded as a bold, boundary-pushing work, Transfinite has captivated audiences worldwide, from its opening night feature at the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival to its Audience Award win at TranScreen.

We look forward to this event serving as a space to learn, reflect and share space with other fellow HGCS members. Don't forget to register to join!
