Fresh Pond Reservation Fresh Pond Reservation: protecting the Cambridge water supply since 1889. Raw water from Fresh Pond is purified at the adjacent Walter J.

Owned and managed by the City of Cambridge

Fresh Pond Reservation consists of 162 acres of open space surrounding and protecting the 155 acre Fresh Pond Reservoir and contains a 2.25 mile loop trail. Fresh Pond Reservoir is a vital part of the drinking water supply system for the City of Cambridge. Fresh Pond is fed by the drinking water system's important upland reservoirs: Hobbs Brook Reservoir

in Lincoln, Lexington, and Waltham, and Stony Brook Reservoir in Weston and Waltham. Sullivan Water Treatment Facility and pumped to Payson Park Reservoir in Belmont. Join us for our next monthly "Mindful Mosey" series at the beautiful Fresh Pond Reservation. This event is a perfect chance to explore nature, soak in the spring vibes, and connect with other earth lovers. Together we’ll breathe deeply, slow down, and notice the world around us, with quiet walking and moments of shared reflection. Suitable for everyone with accommodations always possible. Dress for the weather and bring a portable seat, if desired. Come once or come monthly.

It's back! Join Ranger Omar for our Volunteer Stewards program at Fresh Pond Reservation every Thursday 10am-12 noon starting now through the summer. We'll pull invasive plants like garlic mustard, black swallowwort & buckthorn, plant native plants, pick up trash, repair fences, install signs, and generally contribute to the stewardship of Fresh Pond! Meets at the tool trailer near the lower parking lot, 250 Fresh Pond Parkway, Cambridge MA. We hope to see you there!

Wildlife Arts, the all-volunteer organization that runs the Cambridge City Nature Art Challenge (CCNAC), has announced it will welcome entries from young artists in Cambridge Public Schools and charter schools in Cambridge from now through 10:00 a.m. on May 18, 2026. Join us tomorrow, March 19th for navigation games at Fresh Pond Reservation on the Kingsley Lawn from 5:00-6:30pm!

Sponsored by the City of Cambridge. Wear your green, bring your friends, and have FUN learning to use a map and compass!

All participants must pre-register by noon on 3/19. Use a special map to find checkpoints around the park in teams or pairs - but stay on your toes, some tricky leprechauns will be moving checkpoints as you go!
