Our TYE Alumni Circle had a fantastic visit to LabCentral in Cambridge for their “What the Heck is Biotech?” experience! 🧬🔬

Through an interactive simulation, our alumni got a hands-on look at how biotech companies are built, how scientists and entrepreneurs work together, and what it takes to bring an idea from the lab toward the real world.

These company tours are a big part of what we want the TYE Alumni Circle to offer: opportunities to step inside Greater Boston’s innovation ecosystem, explore industries they may know little about, meet the people doing the work, and keep learning long after their TYE experience ends.

A huge thank you to LabCentral for opening its doors and making biotech engaging, accessible, and fun for our alumni!

We’re excited to introduce the distinguished panel of judges who will help evaluate and champion the entrepreneurs taking the stage at the TiE Women Boston Pitch Competition:

🔹 Emily Weiner — Founder & CEO, The Connectors
A systems-thinking entrepreneur, business advisor and mentor with 25+ years of experience building meaningful relationships, strategic partnerships and connections that drive innovation and impact.
🔹 Dr. Shubhro Sen — Assistant Vice Provost & Executive Director, Venture Development Center at UMass Boston
A serial entrepreneur, educator and strategist who has co-founded and led multiple ventures, including five companies with successful exits, with deep expertise in entrepreneurship, marketing and global business.
🔹 Dr. Tiffany Walther — Program Manager, Scientific Innovation & Strategic Investments, Massachusetts Life Sciences Center
A life sciences investment and commercialization leader with experience spanning pharmaceutical strategy, biotechnology consulting at McKinsey & Company, and scientific research in diabetes and metabolism.
🔹 Sanjay Aggarwal — Senior Vice President & Head of Corporate Strategy, EXL
A strategy and transformation leader driving enterprise-wide planning and long-term value creation across AI, data and digital transformation, with extensive experience evaluating growth and emerging business opportunities.
🔹 Dr. Partha Ghosh — Founder, Partha S. Ghosh & Associates
A globally recognized strategy and policy advisor, former McKinsey & Company partner, entrepreneur and educator who has advised companies and governments around the world and served as Professor of the Practice at Tufts University’s Gordon Institute.

🚀 TYE Summer Boot Camp is underway in Cambridge!

This week, 37 rising 7th–9th graders are transforming their creativity into real business ideas. Working in teams, students are identifying meaningful problems, developing innovative solutions, conducting customer research and beginning to build their own startup concepts.

It has been inspiring to watch these young entrepreneurs share ideas, challenge assumptions, collaborate and grow in confidence. We can’t wait to see how their ventures evolve—and to hear their final pitches!
