Since 2007, Cambridge Neighbors (CN) has been at the forefront of the national aging-in-place movement, providing both practical and social supports to those who want to remain in their homes and communities as they age for as long as they are able. Membership-based and directed, CN is a “neighborhood association” that organically creates community and enables participants to support one another.
CN staff works closely with members to organize, coordinate and facilitate relevant and meaningful services and programs. Practical supports include access to volunteer-based services such as rides to medical appointments, friendly visiting/callers, tech assistance, handyman services, and errand running. Members are also able to access our vetted list of local service providers and vendors, many of whom offer a discount. Social supports include social gatherings via dinners and cocktail parties, interest groups, cultural excursions, and educational presentations. Members are also able to participate in CN-sponsored exercise classes run by certified instructors.*
Cambridge Neighbors serves Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown. For more information, please visit our website at www.cambridgeneighbors.org.
*During the duration of the COVID pandemic, all programs are held virtually, except for our Six-Foot Strolls walking group.
