A big shout out to Ashley Husbyn who took the stage at Nike Outdoor Nationals and represented CIHS in the 400m with heart and grit. She finished right in line with her season in an elite and tightly packed field.

We’re incredibly proud of her effort, her attitude, and her future. This experience will fuel big things ahead.

YET ANOTHER visit to the podium for our CIHS athletes. This time it comes from our 4x100m relay team of Simeon Porta, Knox Andrus, Anders Lillemo, and Jackson Ziebarth. This team clinched an All American title and 2nd place with a time of 42.09 seconds, with only 0.02 seconds separating them from the first place team. Congratulations boys!

You might be wondering if any members of the CIHS girls track & field team competed in Nike Outdoor Nationals, with all the coverage of events so far.

We have one brave soul who is yet to compete and she could use our encouragement and energy. Ashley Husbyn will be running in the freshman 400m on Monday at 7:38 pm MN time. Competing at Nationals is a big deal, and an even bigger one when you are just starting your high school career.

We’ll be cheering for you, Ashley!

We have ANOTHER All American representing CIHS! This time it comes to us from the pole vault pit. Calvin Piescher crushed it at Nike Outdoor Nationals with a final vault of 16’6.5” - earning him a new PR, 7th place, and a trip to the podium to claim the All American honor.

Vault progression 15’6.5” (made first attempt), 16’0.5” (made third attempt), 16’6.5” (made second attempt), 17’0.25” (out at this height).
