The Group for Undergraduates in Statistics at Harvard (GUSH) strives to create a unique and open space on campus for statistics enthusiasts and students to deepen each other’s understanding and empower each other to utilize the power of statistics.

GUSH is hosting a spring mentorship program to connect students interested in statistics with upperclassmen and graduate mentors! You can get advice about classes, internships, extracurriculars, and more!

Thank you to all those who came out to our GUSH x HCWC Women in Statistics and Data Science Panel as part of Women's Week! It was wonderful to have such awesome conversation with our panelists and bring the GUSH community back together once again.

Hi everyone!

Interested in learning more about R? Join GUSH on January 14th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm Eastern Time for an introductory R workshop — no prior experience required!

The workshop will cover fundamental and widely-applicable skills such as using the R console, script editing, writing functions, looping, simulations, and plotting. This will equip you with the fundamental knowledge and a strong foundation to prepare for spring courses with an R component (such as Stat 111, Stat 104, Stat 102, Gov 50, Ec 20, Psych 1900, etc.) — or just learn the basics of R for fun! This workshop will be especially helpful for students taking Stat 111.

Matt DiSorbo '17 will be teaching the workshop. Matt is a recent statistics alum who was an outstanding statistics concentrator and teaching fellow. Matt also has many years of experience using R in industry through his time at BlackRock, and he is currently a doctoral student at Harvard Business School.

Join the Group for Undergraduates in Statistics at Harvard (GUSH) for the statistics community's fall 2021 kickoff social! Featuring Union Square donuts, statistics faculty, and potential pset buddies, this afternoon of outdoor fun is an event you do not want to miss.

This social will be the first in a series of GUSH community-building events this year. Whether you are a first-year who has never taken a statistics course or a senior concentrator writing a thesis, we would love to see you there!

Introducing GUSH's Undergraduate-Graduate Mentorship Program! HUGS (Help for Undergraduates from Graduates in Statistics) is a fall mentorship program that will be pairing undergraduates interested in statistics with graduate students in related fields. The goal of this program is to foster relationships where undergrads can get their questions answered and receive advice about pursuing graduate school/academia.
