HERA Digital Health and MEDAK are excited to announce that AMTI has been awarded 🥇 1st Place at the GHAIN MENA Pitch Competition under the GHAIN MENA Scale-Up Award.

This recognition follows a rigorous evaluation by an expert panel and reaffirms our commitment to building responsible AI solutions that advance healthcare access for displaced communities across the MENA region.

The competition is organized by the AUB Global Health Institute (GHI) at the American University of Beirut, and supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Canada and the UK’s FCDO.

▶️ About AMTI
AMTI is a WhatsApp-based AI Health Navigator delivering culturally appropriate, evidence-based health information directly to displaced women — focused on:

Culturally Appropriate Maternal and Child Health
Sexual and Reproductive Health

By meeting users on WhatsApp, AMTI removes the digital and language barriers that often prevent vulnerable women from accessing accurate health information.

▶️ AMTI’s Reach
Through HERA’s broader infrastructure — including our partnership with Okta for Good — 500,000 displaced individuals are now able to securely access healthcare services, demonstrating the scale and impact AMTI is built to support.

▶️ What’s Next
This milestone marks a key step in scaling AMTI across MENA — strengthening AI fine-tuning, expanding humanitarian partnerships, and moving from validated impact in Türkiye to regional deployment.

As part of this award, we are also pleased to share that we have received a USD 20,000 grant to support AMTI’s scale-up journey.

HERA x INTERSOS HELLAS: Field visit

Strong partnerships are built in the field, not just in meetings. April 2026 HERA was honored to spend days with the field team of INTERSOS Hellas.

INTERSOS is a key humanitarian aid contributor serving some of the most vulnerable communities of forcibly displaced people in Greece. The INTERSOS Food for All Program centers the right to food and advocacy for hunger in Europe. Currently the program serves 200 households monthly.

At HERA sharing, innovation and serving affected communities is at the core of our values; we are thrilled to enable INTERSOS to continue focusing on creating impact through giving them technical assistance.
