We're proud to announce that Camp Ocean Pines is a recipient of a 2026 Whale Tail Grant courtesy of the California Coastal Commission ( ) and the Ocean Protection Council!
Did you know Camp Ocean Pines' outdoor education department serves approximately 2,500 on-site participants annually? Thanks to Whale Tail Grant funding, we'll be able to increase touch tank maintenance and stock, purchase supplies for marine ecology lessons, and bring our watershed model and portable touch tank to more off-site events.
Whale Tail funds will also help us maintain and expand our program with El Camino Homeless Organization ( ) and our program with local incarcerated youths.
Thank you to for helping us expand our reach and ensure that everyone has access to quality marine education and experiences! 🩵🌅🌊

Happy Earth Day from Camp Ocean Pines!
During the school year, our Outdoor Education team teaches students about local ecosystems and creates positive nature experiences. We go tide pooling, hiking, and star gazing. We hold snakes and rabbits, build forts, and so much more!

WERE BACK! Returning Staff Part 2!

This summer we are excited to welcome back:

Zonko, the expert leader of Clown School and so many other fun activities! Zonko brings fun, whimsy, and energy to camp every single day.

Squid is back for her second summer as a counselor, after her first year in 2024. Squid is a counselor you can’t help but feel safe around-she’s caring, empathetic, and always roots for the underdog.

Retuning for two weeks at the end of the summer is former camp staff, Roadrunner! Roadrunner has a way of making everyone feel special. Whether it’s your first time at camp or your 6th, Roadrunner makes sure to spend time talking to all of the kids in a session!

Finally, for one session only, a 2023 Staff Awesome bracelet winner, Slinky! Not only does Slinky run fun activities, her big heart and calm energy helps both campers and staff through challenging moments.

We are so honored to have these staff back at camp, and can’t wait for the new staff joining our team this summer!

GET EXCITED!! Returning staff announcement Part 1!

These incredible staff members will be back for another incredible summer at Camp Ocean Pines! We are so excited to welcome back this crew of talented staff, and we hope you are too!

Jellyfish is retuning as a counselor for her 5th year (13th year at camp overall!). She brings wisdom and passion for camp traditions, a love for beach trips, incredible tie dye and so much more.

Alba with her kind heart is returning for the second year as the Staff and Camper Director, her 6th summer at camp overall. Alba has the power to make everyone feel seen and can help anyone feel better!

Quokka is back for her second summer as a counselor, after 2 years as a teen leader. Our dancing queen, Quokka brings energy, silliness, and kindness to camp everyday.

Also back for her second summer as a counselor, Meadow! After many years as a camper and a teen leader, Meadow’s love for camp shines through in her calm leadership and her amazing camp spirit.

Finally, for part 1, we have Red Tail! Red Tail joined us as a counselor for the last session of 2026, and is coming back in a leadership role this summer! They will bring positivity, problem-solving, and creativity to the program this summer!
