First Friday returns September 4th from 5–8pm with “Celebrate Art!”—an evening dedicated to all the creative things we love about Downtown Camas. Explore art shows and demonstrations, let the kids get creative, and enjoy after-hours shopping, dining, and family-friendly art activities throughout downtown. Come celebrate, get inspired, and enjoy a little artful fun!
Activities include:
-Hands-on Art experiences and demos including quilling, basket weaving, paper art and more for all ages inside the Fuel Lobby with DCA volunteers and throughout downtown
-“Choose Your Favorite Local Art” passport activity at participating merchants throughout downtown with chances to win
-Two Ribbon Cutting Celebrations!
At 5pm, the Ribbon Cutting for the new “Third Space” at LiveWell Camas will take place at 417 NE Birch St. Curated by the LiveWell Camas Youth Council, the space provides a welcoming place to connect outside of home or school.
At 5:30pm, the Ribbon Cutting will occur for the new student art mural "The Pillars of Our Community" on the Birch side of the Camas Antiques building, celebrating the art of Charlie Irwin as his senior project.
-Self-guided mural tour of the beautiful public artworks in our downtown.
-Art Shows and Receptions in Attic Gallery, 419 NE Cedar; Gallery 408, 408 NE 4th; Second Story Gallery, 625 NE 4th Ave; and RedDoor Gallery, 411 NE Dallas.
-Live Outdoor Music by Seth Moran in the Farrell Plaza by Camas Antqiues and other live music around town
-Shop, dine, & have artful fun in Downtown Camas
Start your evening by picking up a First Friday Passport & Activity list at the DCA tables in the Fuel Medical lobby, 314 NE Birch St, and then be off to enjoy all the art!
