On Tuesday, September 15, take the night off from cooking and join us at Grains of Wrath for our first Dine-Around fundraiser of the school year!

From 5–9 PM, dine at Grains of Wrath and a portion of the proceeds will come right back to fund programs and support for our Odyssey-Discovery students and teachers. 💙

📣 Our first PTO General Meeting of the year is coming up!

Join us on September 10th as we kick off a new school year with the Odyssey Discovery PTO. General Meetings are a great way to learn what’s happening on our PBL campus, to hear what the PTO is working on, and to find out how you can get involved.

💙 Did you know? If you’re part of an Odyssey Discovery family, you’re already a member of the PTO! There’s nothing to join and no membership fee. Come to a meeting, share your voice, and be part of our school community.

🎉 OMS, this one’s for you! 🎉

We’re kicking off the new school year with the Back to School Bash! All Gryphons are invited to join us for a fun afternoon of hanging out with friends, meeting new people, and celebrating the start of a new school year. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

📅 Date: Friday, September 4th, 2026
⏰ Time: 3:15-4:30pm
📍 Location: On the front lawn of the school

Whether you’re returning to Odyssey or joining us for the first time, we’d love to see you there. Meet new friends and get ready to kick off the year together! 🥳

➡️ Students can be picked up in the standard drop-off/pick-up areas in front of DHS or the former OMS building.

From our officers and liaisons to the volunteers who help support our students and staff, we’ve loved giving you a closer look at the parents behind our PTO. Today, it’s time for our final board spotlight! ✨ Please say hello to our treasurer, Srividya (Sri) Reddy.

🎒 Parent of an 8th grade girl at OMS.

❤️ Favorite PBL event: I have multiple of them: movie nights where I volunteered on a few occasions and got to know the community, Science Olympiad, and math competitions.

😎 Favorite way to spend a Saturday: I love to wake up earlier than the family – to enjoy the serenity or take a walk birdwatching. I do also enjoy spending time with family/friends on hikes or to be part of whatever activities that the kids are involved in. Whatever we are doing, I love to come back home early enough to enjoy the sunset when possible.

✈️ Vacation: I prefer nature of any kind, at any time. I also love historical, world heritage and cultural sites like Ajanta & Ellora Caves. Some of these man-made creations need to be experienced in person to believe that they exist.

One campus, two schools, and plenty of reasons to make sure everyone has a voice! We recently introduced our board’s middle school liaison. Today, it’s Discovery’s turn in the spotlight! Meet DHS Liaison Stephani Pizzi.

🎒 Parent of a 12th grade son at Discovery.

❤️ Favorite PBL event: Open house (Back to School) - always excited for the new year. And Skate Night is very fun!

😎 Favorite way to spend a Saturday: Morning espresso, time spent with family, sunshine, and a good book.

✈️ Vacation: Beach, mountain and city! I love to travel and enjoy new places, people and cultures. I am usually traveling somewhere every month if possible.

We’re so grateful for the parents who volunteer their time with the PTO. For our parent volunteers, supporting PBL means supporting the same school community their own children are part of every day. Today, we’re introducing a PTO parent who helps make sure our middle school is well-represented on the board! Meet OMS Liaison Charlynn Avery.

🎒 Parent of two at OMS! A 6th grader and an 8th grader.

❤️ Favorite PBL event: Pi Day! Now that I've seen it in action, I completely understand why it's such a favorite. I love how gracious Dr. Dan and Dr. Anzalone are in letting the kids have fun and get messy. The energy leading up to that first pie throw is absolutely unmatched!

😎 Favorite way to spend a Saturday: In nature. My new favorite place to be is on a paddleboard. Otherwise, out on a hike or enjoying a picnic. The perfect ending? A movie night at home with my family and a big bowl of popcorn.

✈️ Vacation: A beach with mountains in the background is my ideal destination. I can never choose just one — I love having the best of both worlds!

There’s a lot happening behind the scenes before students walk through the doors next week! Our PBL teachers and staff are already on campus working hard to make classrooms welcoming and get everything ready for the new school year. 🎒

And because back-to-school prep works up an appetite, the PTO stopped by today with a little something to keep everyone going: bagels! 🥯

Welcome back to our final week of board introductions! While we’re winding down the profiles here, we hope to meet you all in person as the school doors open. Someone you’ll definitely want to get to know is today’s featured board member! Say hello to our amazing vice president, Heather Basse.

🎒 Parent of a 9th grade kiddo at DHS and a 7th grade girl at OMS.

❤️Favorite PBL event: I really like the Mindtaker Miniatures game night! Such a sweet event that supports a local business.

😎 Favorite way to spend a Saturday: Curled up with a good book and my pet menagerie on my lap. We are so go-go-go all the time that it’s nice to have a day off!

✈️ Vacation: Mountains! Our family wants the trees and wide open spaces. (Ideally with some fun swimming holes mixed in)!
