FIRE SEASON IS IN EFFECT!

Fire season started last Saturday at Camp Mooney and no open flames are allowed. This includes both campfires and charcoal (such as for BBQs or Dutch Ovens). The use of propane fire pits and stoves is still allowed.

In addition, each group visiting camp should have at least one shovel, one ax, and one gallon of water or a 2.5 pound or larger fire extinguisher.

It was a busy day out at camp yesterday. We had a small group of volunteers who put in over 40 combined hours on a couple of key projects in camp.

A special thanks to our volunteers:

Kent, Justice, Daniel and Fred for completing the footings for our three new picnic shelters and to Mike for loaning his tractor.

Matthew for spraying poison oaks ahead of Rendezvous and spring events.

Levi and Sam for moving two connect boxes into place to help expand storage at camp.

Camp wouldn't be what it is without our volunteers. Considering joining us in two weeks on May 2nd for our next big service day.

Our first service day of 2026 is in the books!

Thanks to our council Scout executive Dave for installing a new sign on our main gates.

Special thanks to Levi Merrill for loaning us his skid steer, allowing us to break ground on our three brand new picnic shelters located in our Adirondack campsites. These shelters are being made possible by a grant from the Pacific Power Foundation, material donation from Hoover Wood Products and an amazing deal from MSK Building Supply. We hope to have these shelters ready for use by units and events sometime later this year.

Additional thanks goes out to Mike Rice and his tractor for moving gravel to improve access in and out of our parking and camping fields and to Dirk Regan and Whittaker Trucking for making repairs to some of our storage containers.

Camp wouldn't be what it is without all of our amazing volunteers who contributed over 60 hours of service today. THANK YOU!
