Gates are opening!
Lockwood Creek & Miller Jeep Trail open tomorrow, May 9. Point Mugu 4x4 Club trail crew volunteers put in serious trail maintenance on our Adopt-A-Trails Lockwood Creek Trail, Yellowjacket Trail, Cottonwood Trail and our adopted Cottonwood Campground. Thanks to teamwork and help from The Bakersfield Trailblazers Club, a massive boulder was removed from blocking the trail, followed by their club preparing their adopted Miller Jeep Trail and other trail blockages.

Get out, explore and enjoy! But please, pack it in, pack it out and be respectful of our public lands

Contacts to send your complaints over the temporary closure of Oceano Dunes. Thank you Friends of Oceano Dunes!

UPDATE: See copy and paste email grouping below for easy of sending. Additional emails have been added. If you haven’t sent a message yet, please consider sending one now.

Many of you have asked, “what can I do?” about the temporary closure at the Oceano Dunes. Below is a list of decision makers in the OHMVR Division at California State Parks. Please send them an email voicing your concerns and frustrations, how this closure has impacted your family, and your business.

Remember, park staff at the local level didn’t make the decisions that forced this closure, they were made in Sacramento.

Friends of Oceano Dunes continues to stay informed of the process ahead. Since no other land use groups were involved in the lawsuit ONLY State Parks will have a voice in opening the park in a timely manner. State Parks needs to hear from you.

In addition to sending an email, call and leave a message at the OHMVR Division Headquarters at (916) 324-4442
