Meet the team that's "uplifting" transitional age youth!

For many young people who have been in foster care or are system-involved, the journey to independence can be overwhelming:
🔹 Nearly 50% struggle with unemployment by their mid-20s
🔹 Fewer than 3% earn a college degree
🔹 Up to 36% experience homelessness after exiting foster care

At Casa Pacifica, we are committed to providing transitional age youth with the support, resources and guidance they need to overcome these challenges and build the foundation for a healthy and successful life.

Leading the way is our UpLIFT team, working under the direction of Christan Schuyler, Director of Transitional Youth Services.

UpLIFT (Unleashing Learning, Inspiring Futures, Fostering Transformation) provides intensive case management, peer mentorship, life skills training and personalized goal-setting to help young adults succeed in:

✔ Personal Well-being

With a Transitional Independent Living Plan tailored to their strengths and aspirations, our youth gain the skills and confidence to create lasting stability.

At Casa Pacifica, we are deeply committed to walking alongside transitional age youth as they step into adulthood. We believe in their potential, stand by them in times of uncertainty, and celebrate every milestone on their journey to independence.

There is still time to apply for Ventura County's Supplemental Income Pilot Program. Former foster youth between the ages of 21-25 are eligible to receive monthly stipends of $1,000 for 18 months. The deadline to apply is February 13!

Tax season is right around the corner! Did you know about the Foster Youth Tax Credit? If you will be 18-25 years old on December 31, 2023 and were in foster care until at least age 13, you may be eligible for the new California Foster Youth Tax Credit, worth up to $1,117 in cash!
