We want to give a huge thank-you to (on Instagram) for this recipe, which was originally presented in a video form with fabulous how-to instructions that you can still find on her page, tagged with:
This quick visual reference we created is useful once you've seen the video and just need to see the ingredients and their quantities to make it yourself.
In light of the recent news about Campbell's soups in particular, now is as good a time as any to reduce your dependence on corporations for food and make as much of it for yourself from ingredients you've grown as possible.
Here at the Learn & Grow Sustainability Learning Center, we already grow herbs, spices, and vegetables we can dehydrate and add to a dry soup mix like this, and then just add water or broth when it's time to use it.
This is also just a great hack for saving money. Making your own dry Cream of Anything Soup Mix and storing it in a large food-safe container can be less expensive than buying ready-made soup in cans, anyway. One cup of dry mix makes the equivalent of 2 cans of soup, once water or broth is added to it.
If you're already growing your own vegetables, herbs, and spices, this is yet another way to put them to use in a way that will last a long time and create base ingredients for countless different dishes.
