Today, Calumet City Local 621 joins communities across the country in recognizing Juneteenth.

This day marks the end of slavery in the United States and honors the strength, perseverance, and contributions of African Americans throughout our nation’s history.

As we reflect on the meaning of this day, we are reminded of the importance of freedom, equality, and unity.

The members of Local 621 remain committed to serving our community with professionalism, respect, and compassion.

Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

We remember the brave soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 1944, during World War II.

More than 150,000 Allied troops took part in the largest seaborne invasion in history, helping turn the tide of the war and defend freedom around the world.

We honor their courage, sacrifice, and the many heroes who never made it home.

Their legacy will never be forgotten.

Local 621 is incredibly proud of Malik Franklin and all that he has accomplished!!

For the past six years, Malik has run his own lemonade stand, showing hard work, leadership, and a giving heart.

He recently donated all of his proceeds to the Peter J. Bendinelli Scholarship Fund in honor of his buddy Pete!

Malik is also making history as a student leader and continues to inspire those around him. We wish him the best as he pursues this amazing opportunity at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference.

Calumet City Local 621 is proud to announce that we are now partnered with Project Fire Buddies. This is a great opportunity to help children and families in our community.

Project Fire Buddies works with fire departments to support critically ill children and their families by bringing comfort, fun, and friendship during difficult times.

Good people doing good things. We are excited to work together and look forward to the future with PFB!

Happy Monday, everyone!

Mondays at the Calumet City firehouse have a special meaning.

Every Monday, our crews complete weekly checks on the vehicles we are assigned for the day. Every seat on the rig plays an important role, and every member contributes to making sure we are ready to serve the community.

From operating the lights and sirens to checking medical supplies and making sure medications are not expired, every detail matters. Each compartment is emptied, rinsed out, cleaned, and organized for the week ahead. Our ambulances also get a full detail cleaning to keep them in top condition.

The members of Local 621 take great pride in our vehicles and equipment because being prepared is part of providing the best service possible to our residents.
