Congratulations to Evan Ebert the 2025 recipient of the Billy Moran Scholarship. The scholarship committee tries to determine which student stands out among his/her peers, someone who best exemplifies the high standards that Billy set as a student, athlete and person. Evan maintained a grade point average of over 92% while taking 5 college classes this year. He had impressive achievements on the football and baseball fields as well as the basketball court. In addition to being a member of the football team which won three division championships and two Section IX championships, Evan also was recognized individually with the Coaches Award and Team MVP in football, basketball and baseball, 2024 Regional Football Championship Game Defensive MVP, selection for the Fred Ahart All Tournament Team in basketball and earned at least seven All Section IX All Star Team selections with at least two selections in each of three sports.
Evan received many accolades from his coaches. They commented, "Evan is an athlete that any coach would want on their team; a great teammate, great role model and a natural born leader....just a great human being." Mr. Bauer who was one of Billy's coaches for 5 years and Evan's teacher for 2 years said "Evan is the epitome of being a leader, and one of the best leaders this program has ever had-on and off the field. Evan is a great athlete and an even better person."
The Moran family would like to congratulate Evan and wish him luck as he pursues a plan which includes Sullivan County Community College followed by SUNY Cortland for Physical Education!
