On Korean War Veterans Armistice Day, we honor the courage of those who fought, the sacrifice of those we lost, and the enduring legacy of every Korean War Veteran. We will never forget.

73 years ago, the guns fell silent on the Korean Peninsula.

On July 27, 1953, the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed, bringing an end to over three years of relentless fighting that began when North Korean forces invaded across the 38th parallel on June 25, 1950.

Among the tens of thousands of Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice, 47 Marines and Navy Corpsmen were awarded the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism under fire.

Today, their sacrifice endures in the strength of South Korea's vibrant democracy and the unbreakable U.S.-ROK alliance. As President Dwight D. Eisenhower reflected, the armistice brought "free peoples one step nearer to their goal of a world at peace."

We remember their valor. We honor their sacrifice.

It is a tremendous privilege to serve. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the volunteers who contributed to the improvement of our Callender cemetery. Flag and Cross volunteers rocked it as well! All in all it was a huge success this year! Albert J. Hansen Post 592 completed its mission for Memorial Day 2026! For that we are grateful and humbled. God bless you all and God bless America!

Having served in this war, I can attest that life never becomes easier. We salute our leaders from all generations.
