Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who have been wounded or made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The Purple Heart, the oldest military award established by General George Washington in 1782, symbolizes their courage and selflessness. Over 1.8 million Purple Heart medals have been awarded to our heroes for their sacrifices in defense of freedom.

We stand in gratitude for these service members and their families. Join us in remembering their bravery. 💜 💜

List below are Purple Heart recipients with ties to the Callaway area.
- Robert D Booker
- Glen Booker
- Guy Rhoads
- Robert Cook
- Merle Matz
