Today marked a special moment for the Nassau Education Foundation (NEF) as they elected Justin M. Taylor as Board President.

Justin has served faithfully on the board for many years and now steps into this leadership role alongside NEF Executive Director, Susan DeVane. We also want to extend our sincere appreciation to Tonya Baudek with Summer House Realty, our outgoing Board President, for her leadership, dedication, and service.

What makes this moment even more meaningful is that Justin, Susan, and Tonya are all proud Leadership Nassau alumni — a true reflection of how Leadership Nassau continues to develop and connect leaders who serve our community in meaningful ways.

Since those early days, the Nassau Education Foundation has grown tremendously and has now surpassed $1 million in grants supporting Nassau County schools, teachers, and students.

We are grateful for the leaders, donors, volunteers, and community partners who continue to invest in education and make this impact possible. The future is bright!

Calling all Leadership Nassau Alumni. Speaking opportunities are available for the upcoming 2025 leadership class.

Leadership Nassau Alumni,

Throughout the Leadership Nassau program year, the Chamber of Commerce has started hosting a series called "Lessons in Leadership", featuring alumni who share their professional journey and insights with current participants. Each session if brief - only 15-30 minutes during the lunch hour - and held virtually via Zoom.

We are currently scheduling speakers for the upcoming program year, and a total of 9 slots are available. Speakers will be asked to:

Introduce yourself and share your professional background
Discuss your leadership roles and experience
Talk about your time in the Leadership Nassau program - share your favorite program day, memory, lesson learned, etc.
Offer advice that you would give to your younger self
Share the most important leadership lesson you've learned

If you're interested in signing up, please contact Alex Wilmer at [email protected] or call (904) 261-3248 x. 102.
