If I’m being honest this morning I’m not focused on being a light for the world. My prayer was can I just be a light for my classroom and that at the end of the day I still have some light left to be a light at home.

Today is going to be hard a day. I’m expecting it. What do we do when we know a hard day is coming? If I’m honest I don’t always get right. But today I choose to wake up early and turn to God 1st. I know oh so well that I can’t pour from an empty cup so spending time on me this morning was way more important than a few extra minutes of sleep. I spent time working out so my body physically can handle today and also time in prayer. God is so good to give me these sweet reminders in His word! I know my attitude and posture going into hard days also sets the tone. And while I can’t fully stop a hard days also sets/season I can choose to find joy in it and I can choose to focus on me and my mental health during this.

Friends we are here for you! We are here for each other! On the good days and the hard. Today I’m praying your Monday goes well and you able to find the blessings sprinkled in the chaos. ❤️

We all have them. Those days where we go home and wonder to ourselves.. “did they learn anything today?” “I felt like all I did today was redirect” “did they even listen?”.. but then, you look at the pictures they draw, or the notes they leave on your board and you realize—you are making a difference. Whether they learn a new letter sound or text structure, they are learning something, even if it’s just how to be a sweet friend.
There was a student in my class this week that kept singing “the world behind me, the cross before me” and she didn’t know this, but that is one of my favorite hymnals and it taught me something—when I put the cross before me, it not only helps me in my daily walk, but it helps me to be a shining light to my students. They know I truly care about them, and as I look up at my board, I know that means something to them. 🤎✨
You are making a difference, my friend. Even on the days you don’t feel like it—I promise, you are. And they need you. ✨

What are y’all doing to stay healthy? 🦠These germs this year are fierce!! I have been teaching for 18 years and this year I have had to call out twice with a fever! Once in December (I had the flu) and then in Jan. I STILL have a lingering cough from whatever was going on in Jan.

Anyways I take greens, vitamins, drink lots of water, get plenty of exercise…yet here I am adding prescriptions to the mix to kick this cough! 🥴

I’d love to hear more tips on what everyone else does to stay healthy!

You might be a FL Kindergarten teacher if you saved a snowman from your snow day so you can your kids can experience it together! 😆

What a crazy and most unpredictable week! Isn’t that just teaching though! 🤪 When was the last time your week fully as planned, each lesson from start to finish from bell to bell? Because I can tell you it’s been a minute in our classroom. That’s the thing about teaching we plan and prep but have to be ready to go with flow!

Praying your Friday goes smooth even as you walk in this morning shuffle 2 days of lessons into one or into next week. I pray we all find time to just talk with our kids about their snow day too. How exciting they got to experience something so rare! ❤️

Don’t forget to have fun with your students! I always say we don’t make enough $ to not love our jobs. There is lots we can’t control in the world of education but being silly and laughing with my students daily is a must! Today’s science lesson on static electricity was fun… But when I let them use my hair we all laughed! 😆

just got done with cardio so it’s a red-faced selfie!
we believe it’s immensely important to take care of ourselves. as teachers, we often carry the load of the world on our shoulders (or at least it feels like it!). that can be stressful, and it can take a toll on your mental health. one of the reasons we wanted to create this page is to ENCOURAGE and UPLIFT our fellow teachers ✨

I said all of that to say this.. I challenge you to come up with a hobby (it can be something as simple as journaling!) and give yourself (yes, yourself!) some time with that particular activity at least 3 days a week, or a few minutes per day! my personal goal is to exercise 3 days per week. when I take care of myself, I can be a better teacher to my babies, a better mama to my baby, and even a better wife to my hubby!

Comment how you choose to fulfill some “me” time to stay sane during the week, or tell us what you’d like to start incorporating into your 2025 life! 🤎

If you have been a teacher for any length of time you know there’s a 100% certainty you will experience hard moments. Sometimes those moments feel like days, weeks or even months. But we get to choose what we do with those hard times. We can dwell on them and let them take over…

Or we can purposefully prepare for them.

One practice I have built over the years is placing things intentionally where I will “run into them” in hopes during one of those hard moments I will have no choice but to notice them and help change my focus from what seems overwhelming back to the overflowing love of God and how He has me and these students (and yes even the difficult parents) right where we need to be.

It can be anything from sweet notes from students, YES 5 YEAR OLD STUDENTS telling me they prayed for me or writing out the lyrics to Jesus loves me, devotionals I have on my desk I pick up sometimes for a quick reset during my planning time, sticky notes with scripture to an app on my phone that sends me positive affirmations all day long. Im always adding or changing them up and they have all come at perfect timing! ❤️

Hi everyone! It’s my first day back teaching from being a SAHM for the past 8 months. I’m SO excited to be working with some amazing students for the rest of the school year! I believe the Lord has truly called me to teach, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to come back part time and be a part of something so special this school year.

I found this adorable “coffee break” squeezie at TJ Maxx. It definitely helps when you need a real *coffee break* if you know what I mean 😜

Happy 1st day back from break teacher friends. We wanted to take the time to reintroduce ourself and our heart behind Classroom Coffee Breaks.

We are April and Julia, two teachers with a heart for Jesus and a passion for teaching. As a newer teacher and a veteran teacher we both know the pressures and stress that can come along with trying to juggle everything that comes along in the world of education today. Add in a busy family life and trying to balance it all we both know it takes a village and we feel called to help provide a place for that villiage to come together!

Our prayer is that Classroom Coffee Breaks can be a place where we can be open and honest and encourage each other. No matter the grade level, subject, years of experience, school etc we need each other. We truly believe God has called us all here to fulfill His purpose by placing us in classrooms and serving these children. But we know we can’t pour from an empty cup.

So pull up a chair and your favorite mug and let’s finish out the year stronger because we are in this together. ❤️☕️

Dear teachers-
You are more than a test! This test does not define you as a person or as a teacher! The questions your students will be asked today don’t show how you showed up for these students EVERY 👏🏼 SINGLE 👏🏼 DAY 👏🏼 (we all know teachers “show up” and do more work even if they take a day off ). This test doesn’t show how you met each student right where they were at. Sometimes under a desk crying, sometimes with 5,000 hugs a day, sometimes with materials below or even above grade level, sometimes with individualized behavior plans or whatever they needed you were there and made it happen. My class is different than your class, my students different than your students and my year has been different than your year. Please know I’m routing for you! I pray for peace and calmness over you, your students and your classroom! I pray your students blow this test out of the water but no matter their scores are I pray you and your students end the day so incredibly proud of everything you have done this year and will continue to do! You matter, you’re important to so many and don’t you forget it! ❤️ You got this!
