On another social media site there was a question on why the Golf Course was named "Mt. St. Helena Golf Course".

From information I have read. There was a huge interest in golf, the Fairgrounds Board listened and in 1954 built what is the First Public Golf Course in Napa County. Yes, there was the golf course at Aetna Springs Resort, somewhat private. There was Napa Country Club golf course, again membership.
I have read that the Golf Course name was suggested by 2 business men from St. Helena - Calistoga sits at the base of Mt. St. Helena and having St. Helena included in the name would sound more encouraging to St. Helena golfers. Then November 1954 there was a meeting of Golfers to officially organize a men's golf club. The officers elected at that meeting were: President, Don Funke, Calistoga; Vice Pres., T.R. Meeker, St. Helena; Sec/Treas, Roy Schoepf, Calistoga. Directors: Carlo Forni, Al Carpy, Lloyd Long all of St. Helena, and Guy Birleffi, Bill Deitz, Dr. John Wilkinson all of Calistoga. Plans were to also form a Ladies Golf Club and a request for all Ladies interested to please submit their names to secretary Roy Schoepf.

We are starting to plan for the 2027 Calistoga Ag Fair on Memorial Weekend. We are looking for community input on a THEME. Last years theme was "I ❤ Calistoga". Fair themes drive the exhibits.... Come on Upper Valley, give us your theme ideas 💡💡💡
