Last night, members of Calistoga CERT had the opportunity to meet with members of Napa City CERT and the Napa Valley CERT Spanish Team for a collaborative training session focused on basic amateur (ham) radio operations and the setup of our ham radio go-kit.

Training together strengthens our communication capabilities, builds relationships between neighboring CERT teams, and helps ensure we’re better prepared to serve our communities during emergencies.

A sincere thank you to everyone who participated and shared their knowledge. We appreciate the teamwork and look forward to future training opportunities together!

Calistoga CERT along with members from America Canyon CERT and Napa city CERT will be participating as role-players for this training.

We will be hosting an Active Shooter Training exercise on Saturday July 11, 2026 from 8am-5pm at the Calistoga Jr/Sr High School. Please see our press release for additional information. We thank our community in advance for your patience and understanding while we conduct this training for our Napa County law enforcement and first responders.

🔥 PRESCRIBED BURN — MONDAY, JUNE 22

The Calistoga Fire Department will conduct a planned, controlled burn on Mt Washington this Monday, 6/22/26.

Residents and visitors may see and smell smoke in and around town throughout the day. This is a routine, carefully managed operation carried out by local crews to reduce hazardous vegetation and lower wildfire risk in our community.

✅ The burn is planned and supervised

🚫 Please do not call 911 to report it

If you have respiratory sensitivities, you may wish to keep windows closed and limit time outdoors while smoke is present.

⚠️ PG&E has issued a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) Watch for portions of the Calistoga area due to forecasted elevated fire weather conditions.

Current Estimated Timeline:
🔌 Power Shutoff Begins: June 10, 2026, between 9:15 PM and 10:00 PM PDT
💡 Estimated Power Restoration: June 11, 2026, by 4:00 PM PDT

The map below highlights areas currently identified by PG&E as potentially affected by the PSPS event. These areas are subject to change as weather conditions evolve.

Be Prepared:

✅ Charge phones, batteries, and medical devices now.
✅ Fuel vehicles and generators safely.
✅ Have flashlights and extra batteries available.
✅ Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible.
✅ Review your family emergency plan and communication plan.

🔥 Prescribed Burn Notice – June 9, 2026 🔥

Sonoma Land Trust and CAL FIRE Sonoma-Lake-Napa Unit plan to conduct a 95-acre prescribed burn at Live Oaks Ranch Preserve in Knights Valley on Tuesday, June 9, beginning as early as 9:00 a.m.

This carefully managed burn is part of ongoing efforts to improve forest health, reduce wildfire risk, and build community resilience following the 2017 Tubbs Fire.
Smoke may be visible from Calistoga and along Highway 128. If you see smoke from this planned burn, please do not call 911.
