Our 2017 Theme is "Show-us your Show-Me Garden". Each month from May through October, we will visit a garden somewhere in Central Missouri. Most will be public gardens, along with one private garden. We kicked off with our first tour today, at the private garden of Dana Hall-Johnson It was A-mazing! So creative, so fun, something interesting every time you turned around in this Whimsical Country Garden. Everyone absolutely loved this garden and so appreciated being able to come visit. Thank you Dana, for sharing your talents and your love of gardening with us. You have done a fantastic job!!

May - Our May meeting consisted of our annual tradition of Nursery Hopping through Mennonite Country. Our first stop was at Zimmerman's Farm Market and Greenhouse on Hwy E. As a club, we had been looking for White Clematis for our new Arbor at the Park. We successfully found some nice ones at Zimmerman's. Our next hop was to KenMar Cafe on Hwy K for a luncheon meeting. After a delicious home-style meal, we hopped on over across the street to visit Weaver's Country Market. Next hop was to Cedar Valley Chimes on Hwy C, where we purchased wind chimes for the new arbor. Shrub Gardens Nursery, a little farther East on Hwy C, was our 5th hop of the day. Their shrubs start at $5.97 and we purchased some new trees and shrubs for the flower bed at the park. Our 6th and final nursery hop of the day, was to Countryside Plants on Hwy C. At each stop, everyone found a little something for their personal gardens, as well as plants we were needing for the Park Bed. By the time we finished the 6th hop on our adventure, our truck was full and we headed home with our treasures.

April - April is the time of year that we turn our attention to the flower garden at Proctor Park in California. We meet at the flower bed to do a clean up to prepare for the coming season of flowers. Afterwards, we enjoy a picnic lunch with a business meeting. The Garden Club established and has maintained this garden for over 20 years.
