COMMUNITY QUESTIONS ❓

FEEDBACK WANTED AND APPRECIATED!!!

We are working very hard with the city to host a microchip day and pet food and supply pantry at the vet, but we need some input to see if there is enough interest in us doing something like this. Sorry I didn’t do a poll - multiple questions and issues to address. We see the need for change in our community and while we have big ideas, we are working towards short term goals and solutions first!

A. Would you like to see a free community supply and food drive event and/or would you take advantage of this event? Y/N

B. Would you be able or willing to donate gently used or new items to our supply drive? Y/N

C. Are your household pets microchipped? Y/N

D1. Would you pay $40 to get your pet (cat or dog) microchipped at the California Vet during a special event? Y/N (note: volunteers would be on site to ensure all chips are registered with accurate owner info)

D2. If we could get sponsorships for half the cost - would you pay $20 if you wouldn’t or couldn’t pay $40/microchip (still done locally as a one time event)? Y/N

E. Is your dog registered with the city of California? Y/N (California City Limits Residents Only)

F. If a limited number of the city tags were available at this one time event sponsored free to you, would you get one? Y/N (California City Limits Residents Only)

Please comment on the original post or message us with the letter, Y/N, and any comment’s. This feedback is important for us to offer help to the community in the future! While this is geared towards Moniteau County, in order to hit our minimum needed for the microchips, those could be open to anyone - so please respond accordingly!

**if there is any interest in helping sponsor microchip costs for an event - please message us. We had a date set mid summer, but due to lack of additional funds for this specifically, it will be pushed back if we cannot get interest or support. Please know it is in the works regardless of when we can make it happen!

If you don’t know - a microchip is a quick and painless chip implanted in your dog that when scanned by any universal chip reader can provide a number specific to your dog and lead to owner information so your dog can be reunited to you. Any veterinarian can scan for a chip for free during business hours. We would love to get access to a 24/7 reader available to the public to help reunite roaming animals to owners more quickly in town!🐾

Short Stack Robin found his home this week, but his brother Batman is still looking for his forever home!

Lab mix male 12 weeks old, that is up to date on prevention, received 2 rounds of puppy shots. Final round & neuter at 6 months is paid for by the rescue. He is not fully potty trained. Has a good recall. Has been around big dogs, kids, chickens, and other puppies. All playful puppy and smart! Knows how to sit and loves to chew on sticks or your arm whichever is available 🪵🤪

Looking for more reserved and older puppies - Ron & Harry desperately need committed fosters or adopters!!

Trixie 🌈

Trixie is an estimated 17 week old female corgi mix puppy looking for a dedicated forever family!

Trixie has…
🎀 interacted with a cat and other puppies - I think she’d enjoy a fur sibling or do okay alone
🎀 she has met a big dog, but not much one on one interactions yet
🎀 she is not a big cuddler and has a big independent personality
🎀 she is sleeping in a kennel overnight and has done well with no accidents in there
🎀 she is not 100% potty trained and sometimes has accidents in the house still
🎀 she now has all her shots and is up to date on prevention meds - spay at 6 months is required, but will be covered by the rescue
🎀 she likes to play with toys
🎀 she currently has lots of room to run, but no fenced in area - she does stay close
🎀 has been around a young child and does well, but will need monitored

Trixie is a puppy and has sharp nails and teeth. She will need time, patience, training, and more socialization as she gets older to become a great adult dog. She is very sweet and sits well for a treat (most of the time)! She does shed a lot, so keep this in mind!

I know this fluff ball is extremely cute, but don’t forget we have other puppies just as great and cute with a little less fur (less to clean up) who need homes also! Adoptions and foster homes are seemingly nonexistent, and we cannot continue helping dogs without either of those - please message us if interested in either today!!!

Cutest lil helpers ready to be your shadow all summer long! 🪴🐾☀️

These sweet boys are all puppy at 10 weeks old, but learning quickly. They love the big dogs and the big dogs love them for the most part lol. They’ve been exposed to other puppies, large adult dogs, and chickens and done well!

Have had their first shots, de wormer, and prevention meds. Mission Monipaw will cover 2nd & 3rd round of shots and neuter at 6 months.

Meet and greet at your home required! Must be able to commit to a puppy for their entire life!! They will grow up and require continued training and patience. Lab mix - unsure how big they will get as we don’t know what they are mixed with. Red collar is low rider and blue collar is tall and long legged.

We also have our fluffy eared pups male chihuahua/dachshund/pittie mix that are 4 months old looking for their homes still along with our 4 great adult dogs Max, Mary, Fox, & Ruffles!!

🐶PUPPIES🐶

We’ve seen and been tagged in tons of puppy posts lately and while we wish we could help with every single one of them, we cannot. This is a small rescue out of our home and we are beyond maxed out. The puppies (and adult dogs) we do have are waiting way longer for a forever home than they should. We know it’s rough out there, so we are trying to be patient and help where we can, but we are already helping with 4 separate litters.
Please spay & neuter your pets!!
It’s not a surprise litter if your pets are not fixed. There are a few low cost clinics still operating and we can provide info if needed!

Ron (blue collar) & Harry (purple collar - yes he’s a male) are growing up without a home of their own. They are very under socialized and we are trying to work on this, but these pups are not at our home. These dogs are absolutely terrified when I take them to events or play dates. They do come out of their shell as you can see, but this took time. They need someone who is willing to give them the time and patience they need to be great adult dogs. Their sisters got adopted and are doing phenomenal. These boys deserve a summer in a nurturing environment!

🐾 Breed: mom is Chihuahua (less than 20lbs) dad is a dachshund and pittie mix (less than 40lbs)
💙 Gender: 2 males
💉 Vet Care: 2 rounds of shots done, round 3 will be in a week, up to date on heartworm and flea/tick prevention meds, and required neuter at 6 months all paid for by the rescue
👧 Kids: GREAT WITH KIDS especially if they are respectful and go slow. Probably 5+ is best!
#️⃣ Age: around 5 months old
🍬 Food: VERY TREAT/FOOD MOTIVATED
🐶 Personality Traits: Ron is more outgoing and protective of his brother. Harry is more timid and nervous, but will follow after he feels comfortable.

These boys are living with 4 other adult dogs and do good, but do seem stand offish and growly when they see another dog.
They would need slow intros and time to know that they are safe with any existing pets in the home. They do stay in a kennel during the day and have a fenced yard to explore, so they have not been acclimated to the leash. They will need lots of work with walking on leash and potential owner will need to work on this regardless, but especially if they don’t have a fenced yard. They are still puppies and accidents are to be expected, they are doing well, but are not completely potty trained.

🐾Dogs Evening Out 🐾

I had the pleasure of taking our 3 long timer adult dogs out for the evening to Tipton Park last night to get some socialization, pets, and walks in with the Tipton LDS Youth Group! The pups did great and the young women were very kind and great with the dogs! We got to talk about these three dogs stories, how we started the rescue, and how things are going today.
I’d say we have some up and coming animal advocates and rescue volunteers with this group! ❤️🐶 These low key events are so good and enriching for the dogs.

These 3 awesome dogs (Mary Puppins - August intake, Fox - September intake, and Ruffles - November intake) are still looking for their forever homes - could that be you??
If not, what about a dog day out for a pup cup and walk or a nap on your couch?

2 male lab mix puppies available for adoption!
Estimated 8 weeks old. Little 8lb babies.
These boys are doing so good! They love to follow around and be your shadow and will get under your feet. They do well in the kennel (whine and cry when they see you or know you’re around, but do well when alone). They are very interested in the big dogs and the big dogs with them! Using potty pads well, but having several accidents a day on them in between outings.
We take them out every 3-4 hours, and only Blue collar has been good about pottying outside so far.

Have no idea parents or exact breeds or how big these guys may get, but I have a feeling medium size full grown.

Have received de wormer, credelio (1 month for flea tick and heart worm prevention), and first round of shots. Mission monipaw is covering second and third round shots and neuter at 6 months!

100% cute good boys! Keep in mind puppies will grow up and they are a FOREVER commitment!! They have razor sharp teeth and sharp little claws. They loved to jump, climb, and chew.
They will need patience, time, and training to grow up into good adult dogs!

Meet & greets required, but free adoption to an approved home!
