“Dry Streak” is a wildly funny comedy about belief, belonging, and the pressures of small-town life.

It’s the scorching summer of 1988. The Richards family have owned their farm for generations and son John returns home, but not alone. His new girlfriend, Kate, is something this town didn’t even know existed: a punk-rock-loving, vegetarian city girl who isn’t in a rush to get married.

The rain won’t come, crops are failing, and as hope dries up, Kate makes a hilarious and reckless pledge: if the rains finally fall, she’ll run naked through town.

Performances begin June 17. Get the best seats now before they're gone. Call 519-523-9300 (Monday – Friday 9 am to 5 pm) or book online (ticket link in bio).

“Madison Hayes-Crook gives a sterling performance as Maeve…beautifully crafted. I was reminded of those cinematic heroines of labour – Erin Brockovitch, Karen Silkwood, and Norma Rae – and the stars who portrayed them…

“A rousing exhortation by Alyssa LeClair that wraps up the strike elicited enthusiastic applause, as did several other moments during the show.”
- Kelly Monaghan, Ontario Stage

Congratulations to Central Huron's Hannah Hewitt, our recipient of the 2026 Blyth Centre for the Arts scholarship.

This September, Hannah will start her first year in the Theatre & Drama Studies program at the University of Toronto Mississauga. For anyone who has watched Hannah on stage, you know this is the perfect fit for this up-and-coming artist.

Congratulations Hannah! Best of luck, and we can't wait to see where your future takes you! The Blyth Festival is only too proud to support our young folks as they pursue their dreams.

Which do you prefer? The longneck or the stubby? Canadian breweries phased out the iconic bottle in 1984 (replacing it with American-style long-neck bottle), but stubbies were everywhere back in 1978.

We found a few in the “Sisters of ‘78” rehearsal hall. Performances begin Friday, June 10.

Inspired by the Fleck Strike in Centralia, Ontario, "Sisters of ’78" is a fierce, funny, and deeply moving play about women pushed to the brink at a small auto-wiring plant.

As unsafe conditions and harassment collide with a company that won’t listen, tensions spill over into the wider community, sparking a conflict that changed Canadian labour law forever.
