Surfs up dude!!! We hit Huntington Beach flying today. Many first time surfers. Lots of hard work and super proud of so many who overcame their fears!!!!

Knotts Berry Farm by day and California Adventure by night. Crazy roller coasters 🎢 at Knotts Berry and some great photo ops at California Adventure.

Day 1 at Disney do not disappoint. Students overcame fears and went on rides, some students got soaked on the log ride 🤣 and overall we just had a fantastic day!!!!

I was genuinely moved to tears today when I received these photos.

Buckle up, it's story time.

Last week, Thailand was hit with a 300-year record rainfall. District 5020 student Julia is living in Hat Yai, one of the hardest-hit regions. For over three days, neither her family nor our district had any communication from her.

We eventually located her at her club president’s home. Safe, with food and water, but without power or any way to reach us. The following days were an emotional roller coaster, as you can imagine.

As the waters began to recede, Rotary immediately mobilized to support relief efforts in Hat Yai, delivering food, water, and supplies to the community. And right there, front and center, was Julia, serving alongside her Rotary family.

She is truly living the “Service Above Self” motto. 💖

Julia, I can only imagine what you’ve been going through. You are representing Rotary Youth Exchange with incredible strength, compassion and resilience, and District 5020 could not be more proud of you. You’ve already faced challenges that few students ever will and I know there may still be tough days ahead but your courage and resilience is inspiring. We’re all behind you, every step of the way.
