Meet Allyson 🩷

Allyson is a spirited 4-year-old known for her love of dancing, playing and splashing around at the waterpark. She brings joy wherever she goes, with a strength that shines far beyond her years.

At age 2, Allyson was diagnosed with neuroblastoma (NB) and has faced her journey with unwavering determination. Through every challenge, she continues to fight and her family leans on their faith, trusting that God is with them through it all.

At Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Allyson is supported by a dedicated care team, but it is her own bravery that leaves a lasting impact. Her story is a reminder that children with cancer are fighting harder than anyone can imagine and they need continued support, research and hope for the future.

Meet Dr. Vitanza 💚

This Father’s Day, meet Dr. Vitanza, a pediatric neuro-oncologist researcher at Seattle Children's who believes something simple but urgent: better treatments for children with cancer are not optional. He sees that urgency every day in the clinic, in the lab and in the families he cares for.

One moment from his training has stayed with him: he sat with a family as they learned their child had a tumor with no cure. That moment changed how he understands the weight of this work.

“Better treatments and genuine breakthroughs are as necessary as food and water,” he shared. “They are the bare minimum we owe our patients.”

That belief continues to drive his work today. Early funding from Cookies for Kids’ Cancer supported his research when it mattered most, allowing promising ideas to move forward.

Meet Alpha Chi Sigma: Alpha Omega Chapter 💛

In their first year hosting, more than 40 Georgia Tech students came together to turn a high-traffic campus bake sale into meaningful support for pediatric cancer research.

By setting up in the center of campus during peak lunchtime hours, the chapter raised more than $1,000 through cookie sales, donations and conversations that brought more students into the mission.

Their biggest tip? “Go where the foot traffic is and when people actually have time to stop.”

From summer interns to full-time team members 💚

Shane and Annabella joined Cookies for Kids’ Cancer in 2024 as interns, ready to learn, grow and jump in wherever needed.

Today, Annabella works in event marketing and helps lead our Tough Cookies program while Shane focuses on partnerships, donor engagement and corporate cookie orders.

Meet Chloe, our Donor Stewardship and Grant Management Intern 💻

Chloe works across donor stewardship and grant management, helping keep funding efforts organized and moving forward while learning how nonprofit impact comes together behind the scenes. She brings prior nonprofit development experience and is working on building on that foundation here at Cookies for Kids’ Cancer through hands-on work in donor relations and grant writing.

“I wanted to intern with Cookies for Kids’ Cancer because I saw it as a strong opportunity to gain experience in donor relations and grant writing while supporting a great cause,” she shared.

Here, Chloe is learning tools like Instrumentl and Salesforce and applying them through real-time nonprofit workflows used across the field.
