Hey there, the hay is here. This is one of two truckloads of hay that we have delivered about every 3 weeks. This is what it takes to feed almost 300 horses every day. And this doesn't include the hay we need for our other location with 100 horses. This is why we keep asking for your help. Especially right now when fuel us higher than it has ever been. We can't wait for it to go down. We have to pay the increase. I am ever grateful for your continued support. I know you are feeling the pain and pressure of increased costs too! So, Extra Thanks for finding a little in your budget to send our way. We love you and know you feel the same. ❣

Golden has a long story with Lifesavers beginning in 2003 when she was rescued along with 123 pregnant mares and foals from an abandonment issue in Nevada. Gentled and then adopted - 3 different times. She was returned for the last time in 2015 and hasn't been handled much since. We decided to let her become a sanctuary horse and live out her life with us. She is now 26 years old. We will share more details of Golden's life in an upcoming email. I pulled Gee from his herd so he can get his feet trimmed. He's trying to get to know the ladies on the other side of his pen. They are not impressed. 😂 wildhorserescue.org

We lost a horse advocate, a friend, a kind soul. I met Donna Maye West at a Wild Horse Workshop in Oregon back in 2000ish. We became forever friends from that point forward. Donna helped us gentle rescued wild horses throughout the years. She was a clinician for our Wild Horse Boot Camps and coached our participants on how to make friends with wild horses. I have so many memories that I would have to write a book to share them all. Instead I will just say if you knew her you loved her. This picture is Donna kissing Backin' Dann, one of the wild "ponies" that she helped get ready for adoption at Lifesavers. If you have a memory with Donna - please post it in the comments.

UPDATE 4:30PM FRIDAY 5/15 - By the Grace of God these horses have been blessed with a little more time to get saved. They have until tomorrow morning! Auction Horses Rescue only needs another $1150 to get them ALL SAFE! Thank you Lifesavers friends for pitching in. URGENT! These horses only have until noon today - Friday 5/15. They have a soft landing and transportation if the bail can be raised. $2700 needed asap. Lifesavers has made a donation to cover their transportation (a cost that is often hard to cover) but we are not able to take the horses. They do have a safe place to go if they can get out of the feedlot. We have worked with Auction Horses Rescue many times and we continue to do so. Please help these horses if you can.
