The Voluntary Action Center will begin accepting applications for our Senior Christmas Box Program on:

📅 Tuesday, September 1
⏰ Beginning at 9:00 AM

This program is available to local seniors who:

• Are 62 years or older
• Meet the income requirement of 180% or below the Federal Poverty Guidelines
• Complete the required application

This year, 175 seniors will receive a Christmas box filled with food, household essentials, personal care items, festive treats, and a little extra Christmas cheer! 🎁

Applications are accepted first-come, first-served until all 175 spaces are filled. Seniors may call or visit VAC to begin the application process.

🏆 AND THE WINNER OF OUR ANNUAL FIRST TO RESPOND, FIRST TO SERVE FOOD DRIVE IS…🏆
The results are in for our First to Respond, First to Serve Food Drive, and we are thrilled to congratulate the Calhoun Police Department for taking home 1st Place with an incredible 20,123 canned and non-perishable food items collected! 🚔🥫🎉

🥈 Calhoun City Fire came in 2nd Place, collecting an impressive 3,548 items! 🚒👏

What an amazing show of generosity, teamwork, and community spirit!

A huge THANK YOU to ALL of our participating first responders who stepped up to serve our community in yet another way. Every donation made a difference, and together, you helped provide much-needed food to individuals and families right here in our community. ❤️

Our Thrift Store AND Donation Center are officially back to normal hours!

Monday–Saturday | 9 AM–5 PM

Come shop, donate, and check out our refreshed space, including our NEW FLOORS!

A HUGE thank you to mohawkindustries for generously donating the flooring that helped make this update possible!

And we can’t say enough about our superstar volunteers, board members and amazing staff who rolled up their sleeves, jumped in wherever needed, and worked hard to get everything ready to welcome you back. We truly couldn’t have done it without you! 💙
